Lincoln Park Townhouse
Chicago, Illinois
This historic Lincoln Park townhouse had a land-locked, 2000's kitchen with no natural light and created a maze-like circulation path through the residence. We opened up a load bearing wall to connect the kitchen and dining room to the main entry and living space and re-supported a historic brick chimney in the process. We took advantage of the tall ceilings with custom cabinets, globe-like light fixtures, and a small but mighty island. Selective reuse of the existing stained wood trim and picture rail trim grounds this renovation in the original character of the home - while playfully adding color and pattern within the dining room picture mold.
