Forest Bathing

Tucked away in the luscious forest-y woods of Chicago's suburb - Riverwoods - is a cute rambling mid-century ranch that was dark and dated. The property was overgrown, but gorgeous.

The Owner's distinct design style, neutral and calm aesthetic, desire for more natural light, and facebook marketplace prowess really drove the design. We reconfigured the Master Suite, added a lot more windows and a really spectacular tub/shower room with natural marble and handmade tiles galore. We carried arched openings through the house- down the hallways, and into the pantry door and huge new dining room window. We reconfigured the old kitchen - outfitting it with new white oak cabinetry (built by the homeowner's brother and Dad).

So many pieces of art and objects in the home were painted or collected by the homeowner's grandmother. The end result is a gorgeous family home full of warm textures, nostalgic and meaningful art and objects, and some really beautiful light.
